Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. strawberries hulled and sliced in half
  • 240 ml - 1 cup ketchup
  • 120 ml - ½ cup brown sugar
  • 60 ml - ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the strawberries in a single layer on a baking pan lined with baking paper. Bake them in a pre heated oven at 205°C – 400°F for about 15-20 minutes or until caramelized. Remove from the oven and allow to cool a bit.
  2. In a medium pot combine the roasted strawberries with the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and then reduce the flame and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent it burning.
  3. Use as any other bbq sauce.
