Ingredients

  • Ingedients
  • 400 ml – 1 2/3 cups heavy cream
  • 500 ml – 2 cups whole milk
  • 160 gms – ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk and sugar in a pot until the mixture reaches 80°C – 176°F. Chill.
  2. Add the cream and vanilla and mix well.
  3. Churn it in your ice cream maker for 20 to 30 minutes or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. When ready, transfer to a container, cover it and put it in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until ready to serve.
  5. If you do not have an ice cream maker, you can pour the mixture in a container, put some cling wrap on the top (it has to actually be in contact with the ice cream) to seal it completely and then cover it with a lid. This should prevent crystallization.
  6. Then put it in the freezer overnight.
  7. Serve it plain or with your favourite topping like my home-made chocolate syrup or orange caramel sauce.
