Braised Fennel with Red Wine Vinegar

Braised Fennel with Red Wine Vinegar - a very easy side dish perfect to accompany meat or fish!

Ingredients

  • 1 big fennel
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Horizontally slice the fennel in 0.5 cm – 0.2 inch slices.
  2. Put it in a pot with the extra virgin olive oil. Put it on a medium fire, add salt, cover and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the vinegar, cover and cook for another 5 minutes. The fennel has to be cooked, but still quite crunchy.
  4. Serve at room temperature.
