Gelato al Puffo

Ingredients

  • 250 ml – 1 cup milk cold
  • 250 ml – 1 cup heavy cream cold
  • 130 gms – 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp blue food colour

Instructions

  1. With a hand mixer, blend together the milk, cream and sugar.
  2. Add the honey, vanilla extract, and food colouring and blend some more.
  3. Churn in your ice cream maker for 20 to 30 minutes, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Transfer to a container, cover it and put it in the freezer for at least 6 hours or until ready to serve.

Recipe Notes

If you do not have an ice cream maker, you can pour the mixture into a container, put some cling wrap on the top (it has to actually be in contact with the ice cream) to seal it completely and then cover it with a lid. Whisk it every 45 minutes until ready. This should prevent crystallization.
