Vin Brule

Vin Brule - the Italian version of mulled wine. The perfect holiday drink that will warm you up!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lt. – 6 1/3 cups red wine
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 250 gms – 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 10 cloves
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 apple thinly sliced (with the skin on)

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients together in a big enough pot. Mix and bring to a boil.
  2. Then simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Put the fire off, strain and serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Vin Brule has to be served hot.
