Ingredients

  • 3 or 4 medium potatoes boiled and peeled
  • ¼ tsp ginger paste
  • ¼ tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 or 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • Coriander leaves roughly chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl, mash the boiled potatoes. Add all the rest of the ingredients and knead well.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties and put them in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Put a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and heat it up.
  4. Fry the aloo tikki on one side until golden brown. Then flip it and push it down a little to make it flatter. Fry it until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with your favourite chutneys. I like to serve it with hari chuntney, tamarind chutney and yogurt.
