Coffee and Vanilla Liqueur Recipe

Rich espresso and vanilla flavour give this Coffee and Vanilla Liqueur a deep taste and slightly syrupy texture. Pour it over ice, into cocktails, or over gelato for an easy treat.

Course: Liqueur
Cuisine: International
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 4 L – 16 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 L – 8 cups water
  • 1.2 kg – 6 cups sugar – you can reduce the quantity slightly if you prefer a less sweet liqueur
  • 150 g – 1 ½ cups finely ground coffee
  • 6 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1.25 L – 5 cups vodka

Instructions

  1. Pour the water into a large pot. Add the sugar and place the pot over medium heat. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves, then remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before proceeding.

  2. Add the vodka, vanilla extract, and finely ground coffee to the cooled syrup. Stir well, then transfer the mixture into a large glass container.
  3. Refrigerate for 3 to 4 weeks, then strain the coffee and vanilla liqueur and transfer it into bottles.
  4. Serve cold or at room temperature.
