Easy Royal Icing Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 300 g – 10.5 oz icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Lightly beat the egg white.
  2. Add the icing sugar and whip it with an electric hand mixer until smooth and pearl-like.
  3. Add the lemon juice and keep whipping until completely incorporated.

Recipe Notes

  • To thin it down a little for flooding cookies, add a small amount of water, about 1 teaspoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
  • If you want a coloured icing, add a few drops of liquid food colouring.
