Green Tea Latte Recipe

Skip the coffee shop and make your own matcha Green Tea Latte at home. Creamy, lightly sweet, and perfectly frothy, it’s ready in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml – 1 cup milk or soy milk
  • 1.5 tsp green tea matcha powder
  • 1 tsp sugar or to taste
  • 1 tbsp warm water (optional) – use only if you do not have an electric frother

Instructions

Using an Electric Frother

  1. Sift the matcha powder into the electric frother to prevent any lumps.
  2. Add the milk and sugar. Switch it on and let it heat and froth the mixture as you would when making a cappuccino.
  3. Slowly pour the green tea latte into a glass.
  4. Sprinkle a little green tea powder on top and serve hot.

No Frother Method

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a glass and dissolve it in one tablespoon of warm water until smooth.
  2. Heat the milk with the sugar, making sure it does not boil.
  3. Froth the milk using a manual frother or whisk until foamy.
  4. Slowly pour the hot milk over the matcha mixture, spoon the froth on top, sprinkle with green tea powder, and serve hot.
