Fresh-from-the-oven Homemade Doritos bring a warm, crunchy texture with cheese and spice that pair well with dips, spreads, and relaxed get-togethers.

Course: Snack
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 x 15 cm – 6-inch corn tortillas
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp Parmigiano Reggiano – thinly grated
  • ½ to 1½ tsp chilli powder – depending on how spicy you like your Doritos
  • tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Brush the tortillas with oil on both sides.
  2. Stack the tortillas and cut them into 6 wedges.
  3. In a bowl, mix the Parmigiano Reggiano, chilli powder, smoked paprika, and salt.
  4. Toss the tortilla wedges in the spice mix, then arrange them in a single layer on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C – 350°F for 15–20 minutes or until crisp.
  6. Let the chips cool, then serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Store the cooled Doritos in an airtight container and eat them within a day, as they lose their crispness quickly.
