Tender pork wontons, warm chicken broth, soy sauce, and sesame oil make this Low FODMAP Wonton Soup light, comforting, and satisfying without feeling too heavy.

Course: Main
Cuisine: Chinese
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 low FODMAP pork wontons
  • 180 ml to 200 ml – ¾ cup low FODMAP chicken stock
  • 2 tsp soy sauce or to taste, depending on how salty the stock is
  • 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • sliced green onion tops
  • fresh chilli – to taste, optional
  • a drizzle of sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the wontons and cook for 5–6 minutes, until they float to the surface. Drain well.

  2. Meanwhile, combine the low FODMAP chicken stock, soy sauce, and rice wine vinegar in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Warm gently.
  3. Divide the cooked wontons between serving bowls and pour over the warm broth.
  4. Serve warm with sliced green onion tops, fresh chilli if using, and a few drops of sesame oil over the top.

Recipe Notes

You can also add some stir-fried low FODMAP Asian greens, such as bok choy or choy sum, to the soup for extra texture and flavour.
