After deciding to switch from Blogger to a Self-Hosted WordPress site, the next step was to find a reliable hosting company.
Choosing a Hosting Provider
I did a lot of research and in the end, I decided to go with iPage as they had a good offer and pretty good reviews.
I must admit that, besides a couple of hiccups, I have been quite happy with them and I have never changed to any other hosting company. They also have a reasonably good customer service. They are available 24/7 via chat and phone and they are also available on Facebook and Twitter, which is a plus.
Creating a Domain and Going Live
So, once you have decided on a Hosting Provider, you need to pick a domain and register it. Selecting the right name was not easy. I wanted something that represented me, and I wanted it catchy and short, so that people could remember it easily… that’s how I chose Manu’s Menu.
iPage (and many other providers) have a one click WordPress install and that made having my site up and running a matter of minutes!
