hi manu, all the cake decorated photos are lovely, i like cake decoration when ever i do cake decoration i will use your ideas thanks for sharing this.
Stellar! Just stellar!! I have been making my kids’ cakes for awhile but have only done piped bittercream. I have yet to tackle fondant. Super job!! – Katrina
You could go into business selling these cakes! They are absolutely beautiful. I am particularly impressed with the fondant figures. That was a great idea to try them in play dough first.
OH MY GOD!!! Not only they are cute….but SO DETAILS!!!! I can’t believe you didn’t have prior experience to make the first one. I have to say you are talented to make such a beautiful cake without fail… Completely speechless! Thanks for sharing Manu!
Such fun!
What is the recipe for the actual cake though? I am busy brainstorming ideas for my sons 1st birthday in three weeks!!!! He is inlove with the movie Happy Feet. So penguin theme would be ideal.
Great job on the cows.
Thanks Janine! The penguin cake was sooo much fun to make! And not too hard either. When using fondant, you need to make a cake that can support the weight of the decoration… a butter cake or a pound cake are ideal. I am making another cake for my eldest daughter’s birthday in the next few days and I have used this butter cake recipe: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/19421/butter+cake I hope it helps! <3
