I am so excited about today’s post: Royal Tahiti! A little over 1 year ago, my family and I were enjoying the sun and turquoise sea of French Polynesia. The best sea in the world if you ask me!
We visited Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora and we left a piece of our hearts there. Besides enjoying all water activities, we also ate very well and came back with a few recipes like Firi Firi, Pineapple and Passion fruit Jam and Mai Tai.
At the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa we also had some amazing drinks. My favourite was the Royal Tahiti as it has all the flavors of the tropics: rum, coconut and banana!
This cocktail is rich, sweet and creamy and it is quite filling, as it is made with Coconut Ice cream… aren’t you happy that I also shared with you the recipe for a quick Coconut Ice cream? Cheers my friends!
Make sure to let me know how you like it by leaving a comment in the comment section below.

Royal Tahiti
Royal Tahiti - as served at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa - a rich and creamy cocktail with all the flavors of the tropics: rum, coconut and banana!
Ingredients
Banana Juice
- 2 small bananas
- 60 ml – ¼ cups ice
- 190 ml – 3/4 cups milk
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
Royal Tahiti
- 90 ml – 3 oz. White Rum
- 210 ml – 7 oz. Banana Juice
- 5 or 6 scoops Coconut Ice Cream
- 3 tsp Strawberry syrup
- A squeeze of lemon juice
- Ice
Instructions
Royal Tahiti
-
Pour the Rum and banana juice into a blender.
-
-
Place a few ice cubes in a cocktail glass (or 2 Martini glasses) and pour the mixture over them.
-
Add a dash of strawberry syrup and then put a straw into the strawberry syrup, pushing it to the bottom and then up again.
-
Garnish with a slice of banana and serve.
Recipe Notes
If you don’t use the banana juice straight away, it will oxidize and turn brown, but it will still taste good. You can use store bought banana juice too.
This drink is very filling, so even though it should be served in a cocktail glass like in the pictures, feel free to divide it into 2 Martini glasses and share, especially if you are serving it before dinner.
Don’t forget to pin this Royal Tahiti post! This drink is so good! I am sure you will want to make it over and over again!
