MANU’S MENU HAS GONE MOBILE!

February 13, 2012 Last updated on February 13, 2012 By Manu 17 Comments

Today I have some great news to share with all of you!  When I started blogging I had no idea of how to use a computer besides doing basics things like emailing, surfing the web or writing documents.  When I decided to open a blog I also decided that I wanted to do it “all by myself”… it was going to be my creative outlet and I wanted it to be the result of my own efforts.  That was the beginning of a long journey during which I also learnt a lot about computers, image editing, graphics and (simple) coding!  I am sure you would have noticed I changed my logo… it was time I added some better looking pictures up there, right?  Well, last year it took me days to create the logo I had before, while I managed to whip this up in a couple of hours!  YAY!

Anyhow, the first piece of news that I want to share with you today is… oh I am so excited about it…!  Manu’s Menu has gone mobile!  I have created a Mobile App for my site… so if you are visiting Manu’s Menu from your Smartphones, iPad or Android Tablets you will be able to better navigate my site by using the app.

MsM’s Mobile App is completely free, you only have to download it onto your mobile device.

Just type this link into your mobile device’s browser: http://manusmenu.mobapp.at/ or scan the QR Code.  Then click on “Get it now” to download the app onto your mobile device.

After downloading it, you will see this Icon on your screen:

Click on it and you are in!

Now, what’s in the app?  For now you will find 8 tabs: Welcome, Recipes (where you will be able to browse through MsM’s 50 latest recipes – for older recipes, you will need to browse my regular site), About Me, Photos (these are from my Flickr Gallery), Email Me, Facebook (where you can read MsM’s Facebook Page), Twitter (to read all of MsM tweets) and YouTube (where you can access all of MsM’s videos).  For now you won’t be able to leave a comment through the App and to do so you will have to click on “View Original Post” and you will be redirected to the original site which will allow you to comment.

Also, if you load Manu’s Menu regular site from a mobile device, you will be given the choice to either see the mobile site or the regular site. 🙂

I am still working on it, so bare with me as I try to improve the look of the App!  Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

The App was designed to be compatible with IOS (iPhone, iPad), Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and BADA.  Please, do let me know if you experience any trouble with any of these devices!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The second great piece of news is that I have been interviewed by Nancy from the Spicie Foodie as part of her Favorite Foodies series!!  How exciting is that???  Nancy is an amazing foodie, a fantastic photographer (I am in love with her pictures and her food styling skills) and a very sweet person!  And, she has recently gone mobile too!!!  Check out her Mobile App!  I think there are very few people out there who still don’t know her site, but if you are one of them and/or want to know a bit more, please head over to the Spicie Foodie to read my interview and take some time to browse through Nancy’s mouthwatering recipes!

THANK YOU soooo much Nancy, it was an honour for me to be chosen by you among your Favorite Foodies!!! 🙂

Enjoy everyone!

I was pleasantly surprised on Saturday morning when I logged onto your blog from my phone and found out you had gone mobile. I immediately downloaded the App and you are now on my screen! You know I am a huge fan. I was looking up an old recipe I remembered reading a while back but couldn’t find a search button to insert key words to find the recipe and once I downloaded the App, every time I tried to get on your blog through Safari it kept throwing me back onto the App, without giving me a choice. Am I doing something wrong? I haven’t tried since, so you may have changed something in the meantime. If so, disregard my question. Congratulations, you are so tech savvy and also for your interview!

Hehehe I know!!! I have been working on it on the weekend, and it is now fixed! 🙂 When you open the site, you will be given the choice to either surf the mobile version or the regular version. In the app instead you can browse through my latest 50 recipes… if you need something older you will have to go back to the regular site. You can do that any time… just open a recipe, scroll down and click on the button at the end. 🙂 Let me know what you think!!!! 🙂

Herbes de Provence is a traditional French herb blend usually made with herbs such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, and savoury.

It's a simple way to add extra flavour to everyday ingredients and works especially well with eggs, tomatoes, roasted vegetables, potatoes, chicken, and soups.

Ever wondered why your iced matcha tastes differen Ever wondered why your iced matcha tastes different every time?

It’s not just about the ingredients. Small details like the quality of the matcha, how you sift it, and how you whisk it can completely change the result.

Even the texture and colour can tell you a lot before you even take a sip.

Once you start paying attention to these steps, it becomes much easier to get a smoother, more balanced matcha at home 🍵
