FIRST EVENT AND… SECOND AWARD!

March 1, 2011 Last updated on January 17, 2014 By Manu 16 Comments

Flag of Italy (Pantone, 2006)

As all of you know, I am Italian.  Even though I have been living in Australia for almost 5 years now, I was born and brought up in Italy.  On March 17th 2011 Italy is celebrating its 150 years of Unification, so to celebrate I thought I would host a special event on my website.  I have recently come across blogs that host weekly or monthly events, so I thought it would be nice to do something similar and gather a collection of different Italian recipes to honour this occasion.  Would you like to share your favourite Italian recipes with us?  It is very easy to take part in the event. You can read all about it here: 150 years of the Unification of Italy.  Please, come have a look!

On another note, I have received my second Award: the “One Lovely Blog Award”!  Thank you so very much Elyse at The Cultural Dish.  You made my day! 🙂  It is a great feeling to know someone actually appreciates what I write (and cook!)! 🙂

And here I am to pass the Award on to other 15 bloggers whose sites I love!

Daksha at Daksha’s Vegetarian Recipes World

Hester at Alchemy – Simple Ingredients, Magical Food

Jill at Mad about Macarons

Kankana at Sunshine & Smile

Katrina at In Katrina’s Kitchen

Leanna at Raptor Toe

Lizzie at El Moorish

Mary at One Perfect Bite

Medeja at CranberryJam

Priyanka at Buon Appetito

Rach at This Italian Family

Sandra at Sandra’s Easy Cooking

Tiffany at Como Water

Visda at Eat, Drink and Just Be!

Yin at Yin homemade

Thank you again Elyse at The Cultural Dish!  Happy blogging everyone and remember to check out 150 years of the Unification of Italy! 🙂

What a lovely surprise, grazie mille, Manu! Bravo on your award from Elyse and for passing this on. I’m also new to this blogging venture so thank you for letting me join in the fun 🙂
Your Italian Event sounds exciting. My husband is Corsican (hence the Italian name) so we mainly do Franco-Italian meals at home so I’ll definitely do something for the celebrations. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts for the event!

Herbes de Provence is a traditional French herb blend usually made with herbs such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, and savoury.

It's a simple way to add extra flavour to everyday ingredients and works especially well with eggs, tomatoes, roasted vegetables, potatoes, chicken, and soups.

Once you start paying attention to these steps, it becomes much easier to get a smoother, more balanced matcha at home 🍵
