During the Christmas holidays, we all tend to eat a lot. And we also snack a lot more than during other times of the year. I find it easier to snack on healthy food and fresh fruits here in Australia, as it is summer, but for all my friends and family up in the Northern hemisphere, I have a deliciously healthy recipe: baked Cinnamon Apple Chips. I often make these for my kids’ lunchboxes and they love them. It is such an easy recipe and you will not feel guilty while munching on them… after all, it’s fruits, right? And at least, we can balance off all the other goodies that we like to eat this time of the year and are not as… healthy! Enjoy!

Cinnamon Apple Chips
How to make Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips - a deliciously healthy snack.
Ingredients
- 2 or 3 of your favorite apples
- 1 or 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Core the apples and thinly slice them using the smallest setting on a mandoline (be careful of your hands!). The thinner, the better.
-
Place the sliced apples on a baking tray covered with baking paper and sprinkle them with the ground cinnamon.
-
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 90°C – 200°F for 90 minutes, then flip each slice and bake for another 60 or 90 minutes, until the chips are crispy and no longer soft.
-
Let them cool down and store in an airtight container.
Recipe Notes
If placed in an airtight container, these chips will keep for 4 or 5 days.
Those are beautiful – like little flowers. 🙂 Happy Holidays, Manu!
