After making home-made yogurt, I was left with quite a bit of whey and no ideas on what to do with it! Luckily, I asked my friend Sawsan from Chef in Disguise and she gave me the perfect recipe: Ayran. Ayran is a savoury yogurt and whey drink commonly found in the Middle East. I had never had it before, so I was double intrigued and tried it straight away! It was delicious. It reminded me of the savoury Indian lassi (which is made without whey though), so if you are into lassi, you should definitely try this drink out. It is very refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day. Come back tomorrow for another delicious idea on what to do with your left-over whey!

I must admit to never having had ayran. Can’t wait for warmer weather [just around the corner after we have had a number of sleepless nights with winds howling around every corner!] to make and to try and, almost certainly, to like!! Thank you and Sawsan so very much 🙂 !
