I love cheese… I am almost as addicted to cheese as I am to chocolate and coffee!!! And gorgonzola is my all time favourite cheese. This is a very easy “recipe” for an elegant appetiser that is perfect for Christmas or New Year’s Eve or any other special occasion. The contrast between gorgonzola and the sweetness of the dates is delicious and I find that it is very hard to stop at just one when you start eating them! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
100 gms – 3.5 oz. mascarpone
100 gms – 3.5 oz. gorgonzola dolce
1 tbsp milk (or cream)
400 gms – 14 oz. dates, pitted
Put the mascarpone, gorgonzola and milk in a bowl and mix until well combined and creamy.
Pit the dates by slitting them on the top and fill them with the cheese mixture. Serve as an appetiser.
NOTE: any left over cheese mixture is great as a spread for crackers!

These do look amazing, I know I would sure eat of bunch of them! You have been busy making filled little goodies lately. The filling of the olives as well as the dates is not an easy task and does take a lot of patience. Your efforts do shine through on the presentation and no doubt the taste. Well done.

I’m with you, I love, love, love cheese. Dates are so common here in the Middle East, but I never buy them because I’m at a loss of what to do with them. I’m saving this recipe. It would be a great appetizer for a party!

Wow, how delicious! I absolutely love dates, and mascarpone seems like such a cool twist on the typical cheese pairing 🙂 I’d love one of these little gems!

This looks so good. I can see how it can be addicting. I’ll bet it would go great with figs too.
