And here I am with another one of my DIY projects. Only, this one is really easy. Did you know that making ketchup at home only took 20 minutes? And it is as easy as stirring all the ingredients together and put the pot on the stove. That’s it. It probably takes longer for it to cool down than to make it. This home-made ketchup tastes delicious, better than what you buy at the shops and it is definitely much healthier. Do yourself a favour, the next time you pick up a bottle of ketchup at your local supermarket, read the ingredients. You will be surprised by what you will see: high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is one of the main ingredients. Just one tablespoon of commercially prepared ketchup typically contains four grams of sugar. Many brands also add “natural flavorings,” which are really flavour-boosting chemicals, like MSG. A whole lot of nasty stuff. So, make your own and keep it healthier!

Hello! Can you please let me know how long it would be safe to keep this ketchup stored in the fridge? Thank you!
Manu says
At least a couple of weeks. Or, you could can it in sterilized jars and keep it longer. 🙂

Thank you 🙂

Is there any substitute to onion and garlic powder as they aren’t available where I live?
Manu says
Hi Anshul. You could try and use a small piece of onion and garlic and then remove them. Use them just to give the ketchup a little flavour. Let me know how you go. 🙂

I like your recipes but your site will not allow me to copy and paste it to my notes on my air pad, where I keep all of my recipes.
Can that be fixed?
I used to copy, recipes and keep in a ring binder. The air pad is so much easier and not a waste of trees.
Can you send me the catsup recipe that I can store on my air pad
I am a subscriber. To your site, but I don’t want to retype every recipe to keep.

Hi Mary, I am sorry to hear about this. I have tried and managed to copy and paste my latest recipe on my i-pad (to my notes). I am not sure why you are experiencing this issue.
Please, let me know if it persists. Thanks!
